Having a sad or frustrating day? Sing! Flip your mood to happiness.
Research shows that singing releases the brain’s “feel good” chemical – resulting in a feeling of joy, enhanced immune response, and natural pain relief. In other words, singing makes you happy, keeps you healthy and relieves pain.
When a student is having a tough day or doesn’t feel well, I always encourage them to come to a lesson anyway. Every single time, without fail, the student leaves the lesson feeling 100% better.
When I’m warming up my voice, I sing positive phrases. “Best day ever.” “Happy, happy day.” You’ll hear me sing the second one in the video below.
I sang those exercises pretty quickly, so here they are written out.
Go ahead, sing yourself happy! I dare you to sing these phrases and not be even a little bit happier. It works every time.
Singing is Happiness!
Can you imagine how much happiness singing will bring when your voice is free?
